What’s the Point?
This is for the people who bought the ticket, climbed the ladder, and built the fortress, only to realize they are trapped inside. The physical tax is always the same. A phone vibrates against the desk, casting a cold shadow across a double espresso that went cold 20 minutes ago. You have the cash flow, but you are running yourself ragged.
Where the Name Comes From
The term “time affluence” isn’t ours. Psychologists Tim Kasser and Kennon Sheldon coined it in a 2009 study, defining it as the felt sense of having enough time, and found it predicted happiness and well-being better than material wealth did (Kasser & Sheldon, 2009, Journal of Business Ethics). We borrowed the name because it remains the most precise word for what we’re actually building toward.
Thursday Ritual
There are no quick fixes or overnight cures. Reclaiming your time is a fight that often requires difficult choices. We provide guidance in the form of a free newsletter every Thursday.
We do not optimize for algorithms or chase viral growth. If these newsletters help you own your time, read it, share your feedback with us, and send it to another colleague who is still in the trenches. If you stumbled across an article or tool that genuinely shifted your perspective on time, share it with us.
Sponsorship
We occasionally partner with a small number of sponsors whose products or services genuinely fit our readers. This is indicated via a “Presented by” credit that appears at the top of a sponsored issue.
